We have a bunch of great events at the Discovery Schools. Some are workdays, some are just for fun, and some are for fun and to raise money for the schools!
Here's a list of events we have had in the past and are planning to keep having in the future.
| Parent/Teacher Workdays | We have these about 4 times a year. On a Saturday parents and teachers meet at the schools to have a workday. Projects vary, but often include a good deep cleaning of the rooms, new paint, re-arranging the furniture, etc. Past big projects have been adding new gravel to the playgrounds and putting up ceiling fans. |
| St. Valentine's Day Party | Parents bring goodies and snacks for a late afternoon party with the kids. The children exchange Valentines and have a great time. |
| Discovery Fair and Lantern Festival |
This is our big fundraiser. It's a once a year event, usually in April that we have co-host with Sri Atmamanda Memorial School since 2001. |
| Halloween Carnival |
Our Halloween carnival has costumes, games, treats and a few tricks. Lots of fun for everyone. |
| Book Fair | The Book Fair is usually held before the winter holidays which gives everyone a great chance to buy some great books. Also we get a percentage of profits from the books that are sold to buy books for our library. |
| Christmas Party and book exchange | This is right before we take off for the winter holidays. Another great party for the parents and the kids. |
| Picture Day | Once a year a photographer takes photos of each child and offers packages for sale to the parents. |
