This page has been set up to facilitate communication between the Discovery Schools parents and teachers.

	Newsletters:	A four page newsletter is published every month (more or less) with news and information about the Discovery Schools. You can access current & archived copies online here.
	Teacher's Bios:	Find out a little about the teachers
	Calendar:	Via Yahoo groups (see sign up below). A Calendar for things are that happing at the schools. You can find dates for events, school holidays and birthdays here.
	Newsgroups Messages	Via Yahoo groups. A place for parents and teachers to leave messages. This could be anything from tips on parenting, items for sale or trade, business information, reviews of good places to eat out with kids, playgrounds you like etc.
	Files	Via Yahoo groups. A place to put files that you might want to share with the group
	Bookmarks	Via Yahoo groups. A place to bookmark urls that you think will be usefull to the group
	Database	Via Yahoo groups. We can add all kinds of databases of information. So far we have: Class Roster, Places to eat out with kids, Playgrounds, Things to do when it's hot outside, Things to do when it's cold outside.
	Polls	Via Yahoo groups. A place to make and take a poll on something. Right now there is one about whether we should have the newsletter published in paper or digital format

About Privacy and Passwords
Since this section may contain some personal information about students and there parents such as phone numbers, email and addresses, we decided to keep it a "member's only" section. If you know someone you would like to have access to the information here, such as a grandparent or caregiver, you can give them a the login and password. Also invite them to join the yahoo group we have set up so they can access the school calendar and other information. Just make sure to let them know that we want to keep access to these areas limited for the protection of personal information.

Yahoo Groups
We have set up a "group" are on a service called Yahoo Groups. It's a great tool to share information and it's free. To sign up you just need to subscribe with your email address in the box below. However just a few caveats for your information:

• You are signing on to an outside service. Here's their privacy policy if you would like to review it. This group is unlisted and restricted so it's not on a big list of groups that anyone can see and random people can't join the group. However anyone that is in the discoveryschools yahoo group will be able to see your email address.
